If an event is full, please use the waitlist function in Webscorer. When a waitlist is in use we will not be able to process any entry transfers, if you are no longer able to attend, please email mtbnzsecretary@gmail.com.
Note: Online Entries close midnight Wednesday prior to each event.
XC races in the series WILL accept on the day entries.
ENTRY FEES
2023 MTBNZ XCO Event Entry Fees:
• Affiliated Club member and Cycling NZ Annual License Holder $60
• Affiliated Club member but not a Cycling NZ Annual License Holder $70
• Not an affiliated Club member nor a Cycling NZ Annual License Holder $80
OTD Late Entries will incur an additional $15 surcharge (cash only)
WITHDRAWALS / REFUNDS
Withdrawals received 14 days before the event may be eligible for a refund upon presentation of a medical certificate. Requests are to be emailed to Kristy Booth, MTBNZ Secretary (mtbnzsecretary@gmail.com). If accepted, a refund of the entry fee less a $20 administration fee will be payable.
Eligibilty and XC Series Overall

Series points will be allocated on the UCI elite scale at each round

Riders will need to have entered at least two events

All riders from New Zealand (and overseas) are welcome to compete in the events as long as they join the local club OTD

NOTE: There are no UCI Points allocated to these events.

NOTE: If a rider wants to progress to ELITE in XC from their age category they need to apply to MTBNZ (email mtbnzsecretary@gmail.com) to sanction them progressing. The application will be discussed with the MTBNZ Exec and potentially National Selection Committee members. MTBNZ reserves the right to decline or progress a rider based on application /and or National series event results.

Julbo Eyewear Junior Hottest Lap (U15 & U17)
Thanks to Julbo Eyewear, our fastest young men & women at each XCO round will be kitted out with a pair of Julbo Sunglasses. That's right we'll be looking for the rider who posts the fastest lap at each event in our U15 & U17 Men's and Women's grade! Do you have what it takes?

AFFILIATED CLUBS
All riders are required to be a member of a ‘MTBNZ and Cycling New Zealand Affiliated Club (2023) to compete in the 2023 MTBNZ National XCO Series.
Our affiliated clubs have helped us deliver these events – please support them!
If you are not a member of one of these clubs then please speak to your club in regards to their affiliation plans. If they are not intending to affiliate in 2023, our host clubs for the events are offering one-day membership for $10 for each event they are hosting. The day membership fee is payable in addition to entry fees and license fees.
MEMBERSHIP AND LICENCING
As MTBNZ sanctioned events, riders must also meet the licensing requirements below. If you do not hold a 2023 Cycling NZ Annual License you will need to pay the higher rate to cover the $10 day license fee. These categories are aligned with those at the National Championships and beyond.
UCI Categories (XCO = Elite/U23, U19)

All riders must hold an appropriate 2023 Cycling New Zealand Licence (Elite/U23 = Adult Licence, U19 = Youth Licence) AND

All riders must be a paid and current member of a MTBNZ/CNZ Affiliated MTB Club

Non-UCI Categories

All riders must hold either an appropriate 2023 Cycling New Zealand Licence (Masters) = Adult, U15, U17 = Youth Licence), OR

Paid the additional fees and receive a 'One Day' Cycling New Zealand Licence AND

All riders must be a paid and current member of a MTBNZ/CNZ Affiliated MTB Club, OR

Paid the additional day membership fee of the host club

EVENT CATEGORIES (Age as at 31 December 2023)
Categories available for Men (Boys) and Women (Girls). Races and Grades may be combined depending on numbers.
As these events are intended to be at a National Level, the minimum age of competitors is 13 as of 31st December 2023. Riders aged between 17-29 as of the 31st December 2023 can either compete in the Elite/U19 categories but must hold a CNZ Annual License or alternatively enter the 'Senior/Open' Category and do so purchasing a Cycling NZ day license.

• Elite - Riders aged 23 or over (as at 31 December in Year Competing)
• U23 - Riders aged between 19 - 22 (as at 31 December in Year Competing)
Note: The Elite/U23 race will be run as a combined race

NON - UCI
Categories
• U15 - For Riders aged between 13 - 14 (as at 31 December in Year Competing)
• U17 - For Riders aged between 15 - 16 (as at 31 December in Year Competing)
• Senior- For Riders aged between 17-29 (as at 31 December in Year Competing)
*This is a non-championship grade; if you want to compete for a championship title please enter U19/U23/Elite
• Masters 1 - For Riders aged between 30 - 39 (as at 31 December in Year Competing)
• Masters 2 - For Riders aged between 40 - 49 (as at 31 December in Year Competing)
• Masters 3 - For Riders aged between 50+ (as at 31 December in Year Competing)
• Masters 4 - For Riders aged between 60+ (as at 31 December in Year Competing)
