Mountain Bike New Zealand (MTBNZ) invites applications from affiliated clubs to host DH and XC events for MTBNZ National Event Series in future seasons.
About the series
The events series is held annually providing opportunities for national level competition across XC and DH with the aim to provide an opportunity for rider’s progress from club level events and build capability towards the National Championships, Oceania Championships and beyond. These events can partner with Oceania Cycling Federation to be Continental series events.
Who can host an event
Affiliated clubs and commercial operators can express interest to host rounds of the DH Series and XCO Series. The expected rider numbers for DH events are 100-150 and XC Between 50-100 riders at each round of the series.
Event Window
The ideal window for these events to be hosted each season is during January-March, excluding the dates set aside for National Championships and Oceania Championships.

Operational Responsibilities
The successful host will have overall responsibility operational of the organisation of the events with assistance from MTBNZ, in the administration, preparation and running of the event(s). The Events are required to be held in accordance with the MTBNZ Host Guidelines & MTBNZ Technical Regulations.

MTBNZ will provide the following :
- The Online Entry System (standard across the series)
- Live timing & results (standard across the series)
- Event Website, Marketing, Communication and social media
- Medals, Race Plates and Winners Jerseys (XC, DH Series Overall)
- Commissaires Travel / Accommodation* (x3 appointed per event)
- MTBNZ Executive Member in attendance
- Event Guidelines & templates
- H&S plan development assistance
- Event ECP is required through CNZ (review of event plans)
Financial Responsibilities
The event entry fees are set by MTBNZ before the race series is announced. This is to ensure some parity across events within the series. It is not recommended to try and cover all costs through entry fees alone, apply for funding or local sponsorship is recommended. The entry fees are collected and managed MTBNZ.
The host receives all the revenue from the entry fees less the deduction of the hosting levy. The host club or commercial operator is responsible for ensuring all expenses are covered (except those covered by MTBNZ above), including those arising from unforeseen circumstances.

- $15 per rider for affiliated clubs
- $25 per rider for commercial operators
